UEFA Champions League finalists Manchester City FC are the new leader of the European Elite for the first time, displacing Real Madrid CF who held the top position for the past four years, to second place, according to our annual ranking of Europe’s 32 most prominent football clubs based on their Enterprise Value (EV). The 8 th edition of “Football Clubs’ Valuation: The European Elite” reveals the consolidation of football’s power as a prime entertainment product, showcasing its unwavering resilience even in the face of the extreme disruption caused by the pandemic, as proven by its spectacular growth: the aggregate EV has grown by 40% year on year, almost doubling the 2016 figure.
