Football Benchmark collaborates with Birkbeck University of London to introduce a special course in football management and finance

Birkbeck University of London is delighted to announce a partnership with Football Benchmark to deliver a course on Football Management and Finance, a program designed to enhance the financial expertise of football professionals seeking to delve into the economic and financial aspect of the industry, and to provide crucial knowledge to those that are willing to enter the football industry for the first time.

The professional football realm stands as a highly dynamic sector within the sports media and entertainment market, with football clubs acting as primary players. This Football Management and Finance course delves into the pivotal factors underpinning the economic prosperity of these clubs, encompassing areas such as media broadcasting, match-day attendance, commercial ventures, and player development, and into latest trends at global level such as valuation of football clubs, M&A transactions, digitalization and women football.

Real-life case studies and the presence of industry leaders as guest speakers will complement the more technical component of each module. The course will provide an exclusive view on best-practice and most efficient business models, emphasizing key trends and future outlook. The course will commence in January 2024 and will consist of nine lectures.
